Hallhill, Lochend Wood, Dunbar

Hallhill is a 2-storey gabled farmhouse built around 1850. The building features a second storey that breaks the eaves. It is constructed from red rubble sandstone, accented with stugged ashlar dressings and chamfered arrises.

The south elevation is symmetrical with three bays and includes a doorway topped by a pediment and a decorative fanlight. On either side of the doorway, there are timber mullioned bipartite windows at ground level and smaller openings on the first floor, all set within gabled dormerheads.

The north elevation has a pentice roof that projects at the center and to the right at ground level, featuring irregular windows and a doorway on the east return. There are also two single windows in dormerheads similar to those on the south elevation.

Both the east and west gables are blank, with a central gable end stack that projects and has offsets, each bearing four diamond flues with original cans still in place. The windows have a plate-glass glazing pattern, and all gables feature crowstepped skews with beak skewputts. The roof is covered with grey slates. Additionally, there is a rubble-coped red rubble sandstone retaining wall to the south.
