Description
The building is a barn located to the south of Cumrew Farmhouse, likely dating from the late 17th century with an early 18th-century barn addition. The farmhouse features coursed red sandstone rubble walls, while the barn has mixed sandstone rubble walls with flush red sandstone quoins. Both structures have a common roof made of mixed Welsh and green slate, and there is an ashlar chimney stack.
The two-storey structure consists of a three-bay house on the right and a three-bay barn. The house has an original fire window on the left with a chamfered stone surround, which is now filled in. To the right, there is a small square original window with a moulded architrave, and a larger central window from the 18th century that likely replaced an original entrance; all windows are unglazed. There is also a filled upper floor window to the right and a small square ground floor window with a chamfered surround on the rear wall.
The barn features a cross passage with a plank door along the dividing wall and a filled narrow central entrance. It has part-glazed windows with plain stone surrounds. An adjoining implement store to the right, which also belongs to Cumrew Farm, is listed separately and is included partly for group value context.
