Description

This milestone, dating from the early 19th century, is located on the Longtown-Penton road, south-west of Netherby Hall. It is made of red sandstone and features a round top with a cast iron plate on the front that reads "CARLISLE 10 MILES." The stone has been whitewashed, with the lettering highlighted in black.
