Description
South Lodge is a lodge for Netherby Hall, built in the early 19th century for the Graham family. It is constructed of painted ashlar and features a hipped Welsh slate roof with shaped bottom and top courses, along with an ashlar chimney stack. The building is single storey and has three bays. The steeply pitched roof extends over the eaves and is supported by square wooden pillars. There are short flanking extensions at right angles to the main block, which have a higher roof line and decorative bargeboards. The central window is a 20th-century triple casement set within a 19th-century chamfered surround. To the right, there is a four-panel door in a plain surround, and to the left, a round-arched narrow window with a chamfered surround.
