Description
No. 45 Main Street is a house that has been converted into a shop. It is marked with the initials IP and the date 1662 on a stone between the first-floor windows, indicating its original construction date. The building features pebble-dashed rubble and has a pilaster at the north end. It has a steeply-pitched, graduated slate roof with a rendered chimney at the south end and a cast-iron gutter supported by brackets. The structure is two storeys high and has two bays. The shop front, which dates from the 19th century, has a cornice, panelled pilasters, and a part-glazed door. Above, there are two sash windows in stone surrounds that still retain some decorative glazing bars. The building has undergone later additions and alterations.
