Description
No. 18 High Street is a house that has been converted into a house and shop. It dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with later additions. The building is constructed of narrow, reddish-brown brick, which is rendered and whitewashed at the front, featuring stone cills and a pantile roof. It has an L-shaped plan with later infill. The structure is two storeys high and has four windows on the first floor. There is a step leading to a 20th-century glazed door situated between two plate glass shop windows beneath a cornice. To the left, there is another blocked 20th-century door, and there is one additional six-pane sash window. On the first floor, there are four six-pane sash windows with stone cills. The roof is hipped with ridge stacks, and the wing features a moulded first floor band and cogged eaves. The rear infill is designed under a catslide roof.
