Description

Mill House, dating from circa 1720, was originally a mill and is now a house. It is constructed of brown mottled brick with red brick dressings and a pantile roof. The building is two storeys high and has seven bays. A small outshut is attached to the left gable. A five-course plinth is visible, containing a blocked segmental headed arch between the third and fourth bays, and another in the fifth bay. Steps lead to 20th-century doors in the second and fourth bays, with a blocked doorway in the sixth bay. A blocked window with an inserted circular pane is located in the first bay, and a single pane 20th-century window is in the third bay. Four-pane casements are found in the fifth and seventh bays. On the first floor, the first bay mirrors the ground floor. The second, fourth, and sixth bays are blocked, while a 12-pane Yorkshire sash window is present in the third bay. Brick flat arches and jambs are evident, with replacement soldier arches to the fifth and seventh bays. A parapet features seven blind panels. End and ridge stacks are present.
