Description
Nos 1 and 2 King Street are early to mid 19th century buildings located opposite Whittle's Furniture Store. They are three storeys high and have a stuccoed exterior with Edwardian shop fronts. Each upper floor features six windows with sills, although the glazing bars have been removed. The corner of the building is chamfered and includes a round-arched doorway as well as round-arched windows on the first floor. The King Street facade has three windows on the upper floors, which are adorned with cornices on brackets. Although it appears to be a single building, it has four separate addresses. This property is part of a group that includes Nos 4, 5, the Co-operative Store, Whittle's Furniture Store, The Globe Hotel, and Nos 105 and 105A.
