Description
The Waverley Hotel is an impressive three-storey Victorian hotel built in 1814. It features a stucco exterior with cornice bands and a basement, topped with a cornice supported by brackets. The building has five dormers with open pediment gables. The central doorway is reached by three steps and is framed by a pilastered doorcase with a wide pediment on ornamented brackets. On either side of the doorway are two sash windows in plain frames, each with similar pediments and sills on brackets. The first floor has five sash windows with Composite pilaster-jambs and panelled lintels, while the top floor also has five sash windows set in moulded frames. The hotel adjoins the rear of No 6 Duke Street.
