Description
The King's Arms Hotel is an early 19th century building located in Market Square, Westerham. It stands three storeys tall and features six windows. The hotel has a low pitched, hipped slate roof and a stuccoed front that is decorated with incised lines. The façade is enhanced by five giant pilasters that support a moulded boxed eave gutter. The windows are recessed sash types with glazing bars.
At the front, there is a prostyle porch with a modillion cornice, which includes balcony railings above that feature a central flagpole and the Royal Arms. To the left, there is a glazed bar entrance, and at the extreme left, a carriageway. Additionally, there is a later 19th century right wing that is two storeys high and has one window. This wing is also stuccoed and features heavy ornamentation, with a double door on the ground floor and a round arched window leading to a balustraded balcony above.
