Description

The Londesborough Hotel is an early 19th-century building that has undergone later additions and alterations. It features a stucco facade with wide bracketed eaves, which are narrower over the eastern bay that slightly projects forward. The roof is slate-covered. There is a stucco band at the first floor level. The hotel is three storeys high with four windows; the central two windows have moulded architraves on the second floor, while the first floor has French casements leading to a long Victorian Gothic balcony supported by brackets. This balcony connects to two outer late 19th-century two-storey bay windows. The ground floor includes a reproduction bow window.

At the rear, the facade has sashes with moulded architraves and glazing bars. An early 19th-century house forms part of the hotel, constructed from red brick with a wide eaves cornice and a hipped slate roof. There is a brick string course at the first floor, three storeys high with two windows; the sashes have segmental heads and glazing bars, while the top floor features only vertical glazing bars. The central entrance has a six-panel door topped by a massive semi-circular hood on wide brackets.

The Londesborough Hotel is part of a group with Nos 26 to 34 and Nos 36 to 44 on the same street.
