Description

The George Hotel is an early 19th century building located on the southeast side of High Street. It features a two-storey structure with an attic, which is finished in stucco. The building has a cornice and a parapet, although the raised panel that once formed a pediment on the parapet is now missing. There are seven sash windows, but the lower half of the ground floor windows are missing their glazing bars. The entrance includes a doorcase with panelled pilasters that are wider at the bottom than at the top, a pediment, a rectangular fanlight, and a half-glazed door. The hotel is part of a group that includes Nos 7 to 17 (odd).
