Description
Whittle's Furniture Store, dated 1889, is a three-storey building finished in stucco. It features paired pilasters at each end, arranged in three tiers: Tuscan, Corinthian, and Tuscan. The ground floor contains shop fronts, while the first floor has five windows, including some six-light cross types and others that are two-light sashes, three of which are topped with broken pediments. The top floor also has five sash windows, each with plain pediments. The second bay is highlighted by a top dormer that has a scrolled pediment, pilasters, and wings, along with a swag on the pediment of the first floor. Whittle's Furniture Store is part of a group that includes Nos 4, 5, the Co-operative Store, The Globe Hotel, and Nos 105 and 105A.
