Milepost on towpath. c1893. Cast iron. Rectangular plate with inscription: GJC CO LEICESTER 35 MILES. The 'old' Grand Union Canal of 1810-14 became the Leicester Line of the Grand Junction canal in 1893-4. This milepost is one of series.
