Description
Barberry Farmhouse is a farmhouse, now a house, that likely dates from the early 18th century. It is constructed of squared coursed lias and features a 20th-century slate roof. The building has a three-unit plan and is two storeys high with an attic. The front has a three-window range of 19th-century tripartite sashes on the first floor, and the ground floor includes casements and one sash, all set under wooden lintels. To the right of the centre, there is a plank door with a 19th-century reeded wood surround. The farmhouse retains remains of ashlar kneelers, and there are 20th-century dormers along with brick stacks at the ridge and end. An attic window with a stone surround is located in the right gable. Inside, there are two open fireplaces, and the room to the left of the entrance features a stopped chamfered ceiling beam. The dogleg staircase has late 17th-century turned balusters, which are likely reset.
