Description
Blyth House is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house, dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of painted brick with ashlar dressings and features a slate roof. The building has a three-unit plan and stands two storeys high with an attic. The façade includes a five-window range of 20th-century casements set in original openings, all under flat brick arches. To the left of the centre, there is a double-panel folding plank door with large strap hinges and a fanlight above that has glazing bars. The exterior is enhanced by rusticated ashlar quoins, a flat string course between the storeys, and a moulded stone cornice. The gables are adorned with ashlar parapets and kneelers, while brick stacks are positioned at the ridge and ends. The left gable features a weathered ashlar tablet with a cornice.
Inside, the room to the right of the entrance has moulded ceiling beams, and the room at the far right retains the remains of an open fireplace.
