Description
The Old Gable is a house located on Yelvertoft High Street, dating from the late 17th century, with alterations from the 18th and 19th centuries. The building is constructed of lias stone, brick, and timber frame, featuring small framing on a lias plinth with brick infill and a corrugated metal roof. It likely started as a two-unit plan with a cross-wing to the right. The house has two storeys, with the right gable displaying a one-window range of casements and exposed timber framing. There is a canted bay window on the ground floor to the left, and brick stacks are positioned at the ridges. To the left, there is a single-storey extension with a one-window range. The right elevation also shows exposed timber-frame construction with brick infill. The interior has not been inspected.
