Description

HELLIDON SP5158 13/91 Clare Cottage - II Cottage. Early C18. Coursed ironstone rubble, tile roof, stone end stacks. 2-unit through-passage plan. 2 storeys and attic; 3-window range. C19 pointed arch door left of centre; open timber buttress-porch. 2-light casement windows with timber lintels, C20 roof light, stone coped gables with kneelers. 2-storey, 1-window, C19 rendered brick range to right with slate roof (former grooms cottage) joined to cottage by single-storey link. Interior: open fireplace with stop-chamfered bressumer, stop-chamfered spine beams, bread oven, staircase with turned balusters, stone-flagged floors.
