Description

This is a K6 type telephone kiosk, a standardised design dating from the 1930s. It is constructed of cast iron and painted red, featuring long horizontal glazing in the door and sides. The crowns on the top panels are applied, rather than perforated which is typical of some K6 examples. Rectangular white display signs read "TELEPHONE" beneath the shallow curved roof. The internal telephone equipment has been updated. While seven of the glass panes have been replaced with polycarbonate, it remains otherwise in good condition. The kiosk has a notable visual relationship with the nearby Grade II listed buildings, The Old Mill House and East View Cottage.
