Description
Bank House Farmhouse is a house, formerly a farmhouse, dating from the early 18th century and significantly remodeled in the late 19th century. It is constructed of coursed squared ironstone with a slate roof and features stone end stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a three-window range. The main front faces the garden and includes a central part-glazed door with an overlight and a stone lintel with a keyblock. To the left of the door is a single-light window, while the other windows have wood mullions and transoms. All windows feature stone sills and lintels with keyblocks. There are two 2-light roof dormers on either side, with stone coped gables and kneelers. At the rear of the left end, there is a single-storey wing that has 2-light stone mullion windows with moulded architraves flanking a cellar. A datestone inscribed "1710" is located at the rear. Inside, there is an early 18th-century staircase with fat turned balusters. The farmhouse is included for its group value.
