Description

This is a headstone located approximately 2 meters east of the southeast angle of the south aisle of the Church of St. John the Baptist. It dates from the mid-17th century and is made of ironstone. The headstone features a segmental top and is inscribed with the following text: "HERE/LYETH THE BODY OF/ANNE NEALE THE/WIFE OF WILLIAM NEALE. SHEE HAD IS/SUE BY HIM 17 SONNES/AND 2 DAUGHTERS/SHEE WAS BURIED/THE 12 OF FEBRUARY/1646."
