Description

This headstone, dating from 1699, is located approximately 4.5 meters south of the chancel of the Church of St John the Baptist. It is made of carved ironstone and features a swan neck pediment with a central finial. The design includes a winged head and festoon, which frame a scrollwork convex cartouche that has a grotesque mask at its base. The inscription is dedicated to James ?neel.
