Description

This is a 17th-century house, originally a farmhouse, which has been altered in the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed squared ironstone with an asbestos tile roof and brick end stacks. The house has a 3-unit plan and is two storeys high with an attic. It has a 5-window front. A 20th-century part-glazed door is located to the right of the centre, topped by a wooden lintel. There are 20th-century 2-light casement windows on both the ground and first floors, each with a wooden lintel. Quoins are present, and the stone-coped gables incorporate kneelers and two 20th-century roof dormers. A 20th-century single-storey extension is attached to the left, featuring a plain-tile roof. Inside, the house retains chamfered spine beams and an open fireplace with an ogee-stop-chamfered bressumer. The building was formerly thatched and was, at one time, divided into two cottages.
