Description

South View Farmhouse is a house that was originally a farmhouse, built in the mid-18th century with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It features a 20th-century pantile roof and brick end stacks. The house has a three-unit plan, is two storeys high with an attic, and has a three-window range.

The central entrance consists of a four-panel door surrounded by a pilastered wood surround, with one-light windows on either side, all set within a 20th-century lean-to porch. There is a 20th-century two-light casement window, which has replaced a sash window, featuring a stone lintel and keyblock. To the left on the first floor, there is a similar window with a wood lintel, while the ground floor to the right has a 20th-century three-light window. The first floor has 12-pane sash windows in the center and to the right, both with wood lintels.

The exterior is accented with ironstone quoins, chamfered coping to the plinth, and stone bands at the storey and eaves, along with stone-coped gables that have kneelers. The coping from the right gable end has been transferred to the gable end of a two-storey, one-window 19th-century extension on the right. Inside, there is a rearranged open well staircase with turned balusters, boxed spine beams, and a stone cellar.
