Description
Bridge House is a house, formerly a farmhouse, dated 1696 and raised in the early 19th century using ironstone. The building features coursed squared limestone, an asbestos tile roof, and brick stacks. It has a three-unit plan and stands three stories tall with a three-window range. There is a six-panel part-glazed door to the right of the center, which has a moulded wood surround and a straight hood supported by brackets. To the left of the door is a two-light casement window with a wood lintel. The remaining windows include three-light casements on the ground and first floors and two-light casements in the attic, all with wood lintels. The house has an ironstone-coped gable with kneelers and a datestone above the door inscribed P/TE/1696. At the rear, there is a 19th-century single-storey lean-to extension. Inside, the property features chamfered spine beams, an inglenook fireplace with a boxed bressumer, a fitted corner cupboard with shaped shelves and round arched doors, a staircase with landings from the ground floor to the attic, and original collar trusses preserved in the raised roof.
