BOUGHTON CHURCH STREET SP7565 (North side) 22/33 Gatepier to Boughton Hall, approx 30 metres south west of The Old Griffin

Gatepier. Early C18. Ashlar. Panelled sides surmounted by lead heraldic animal. Restored to present position in 1972. Originally at Boughton but present position not necessarily original. One of a pair with north gatepier. (The Buildings of England : Northamptonshire 1973 p.110).
