Description

The gatepier to Boughton Hall, located approximately 30 metres south west of The Old Griffin, dates from the early 18th century. It is constructed of ashlar and features panelled sides topped with a lead heraldic animal. The gatepier was restored to its current position in 1972, although it originally stood at Boughton, and this location may not be its original site. It is one of a pair, with a corresponding gatepier to the north.
