Description

The Old Griffin is a public house that has been converted into a house, dating from the mid-17th century. It is constructed of coursed lias rubble and features a thatched roof. The building has a four-unit plan and is two stories high, with a six-window range of casements and two-plank, braced doors. Wood lintels are present above all openings, and there are brick stacks at the ridge and ends. To the right, there were formerly attached cottages that include a three-light stone mullion in the end gable. The ground floor has been converted into a range of four 20th-century garages. The Old Griffin was previously known as The Griffin public house.
