Description

The K6 Telephone Kiosk in Boughton is a standard design made of cast iron and painted red. It features long horizontal glazing in the door and sides, with crowns on the top panels that are applied rather than perforated. There are rectangular white display signs reading "TELEPHONE" beneath the shallow curved roof. The kiosk has modernised internal equipment. Although one of the display signs above the door is missing, the kiosk is otherwise intact and retains all its glass panes. It is situated at the village crossroads and has a strong visual connection with seven listed buildings, primarily late 17th century or early 18th century cottages constructed of coursed lias under thatched roofs.
