SARSDEN SP22SE 7/194 Gatepier at N.G.R. SP 2908 2326

GV II

Gatepier. Late C17 or early C18. Limestone ashlar. Square section with moulded plinth and capping and projecting scrolled pilaster to north side. Mutilated cavetto-moulded finial, possibly formerly with swagged urn. Stands at north entrance to drive to east of Sarsden House (q.v.), abandoned before 1788.
