SARSDEN A.361 SP32SW (West side) 8/185 Gatepier at N.G.R. SP 3066 2331

GV II

Gatepier. Probably early to mid-C18. Limestone ashlar. Rectangular section with chamfered plinth and moulded modillions below moulded capping. This has gadrooned base supporting ball finial with moulded band to centre. One of a pair at former east entrance to Sarsden House (q.v.). (Buildings of England: Oxfordshire, p753) [2635]
