Description

This is a shop and dwelling house dating to the 17th century, with alterations in the 19th century. The front is of white painted brick, the rear is of rubble stone, and the roof is slate. The building is three storeys high and has a two-window front. The upper floor has a pair of four-pane sash windows. Below them are a pair of 19th-century canted bay windows with sash windows. A projecting 19th-century shop front features a glazed door to the right and a further door to the left. A rubble stone wing at the rear has additional sash windows and a 2-light attic casement. Inside, there are some chamfered beams, a 19th-century staircase, and old purlins in the roof of the rear wing. The property is included on the list for its group value.
