Description

The Old Bakery is a shop with a 19th-century facade onto an 18th-century rear section. It is constructed of coursed squared rubble with a slate roof, and features a red brick chimney to the rear. The building is a two-and-three-storey gable-fronted range. The late 19th-century shop front has a central recessed half-glazed door, a simple moulded cornice, and panelled side pilasters. There is a 20th-century plate glass casement window on the first floor. Simple moulded bargeboards are also present. The side elevation of the rear range has casement windows with glazing bars under timber lintels. The upper storey is rendered, and is likely a later addition with an exposed plank ridge roof and sawn purlins. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included on the list for its group value.
