Description
Oxford House is a house that was formerly a public house and later a bank, now used as an office. It dates from around 1830 to 1840. The building is constructed of coursed squared rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings, and the roof covering is not visible. It has three storeys and a symmetrical three-window range. The 20th-century six-panelled door features an overlight with radial glazing bars and is flanked by 16-pane sash windows. The first and second floor windows are also sashes with glazing bars, all set beneath lintel string courses with keyblocks. Wooden blocks on the first floor indicate the former inn sign of the Oxford House Public House. There are two gable-end chimneys, with the left one finished in brick. The interior has not been inspected.
