Description
The Fish Shop is a house that has been converted into a shop and residence, dating from the late 17th century with later alterations. It is constructed of coursed squared rubble and features timber lintels and a concrete tile roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a three-window range.
To the left, there is a low, broad plank door from the 17th century, which has strap hinges and a chamfered lintel. The central entrance is a half-glazed door from the 19th century, set in plain reveals, and is flanked by a 19th-century shop window on the left and a smaller plate glass window on the right. The first-floor windows are sashes with glazing bars. There are two gabled dormers that are rendered and have small casements. The building has stone end chimneys on the right that are finished in brick.
Inside, the ground floor features a chamfered and stopped spine beam, along with a similar wall-plate in the left passage.
