Description

Redding Wick House is a house dating to circa 1830-1840, located on Market Street, Charlbury. The construction is of coursed squared rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings, and it is roofed with slate. The house is three storeys high with a cellar, and has a three-window front. It features 16-pane sashes beneath flat stone lintels. A panelled front door has an overlight with rectilinear glazing bars. A canted ground floor bay to the right has large-paned sashes, obscuring the timber lintel of what was formerly a shop window. Two gable-end chimneys are present. The interior has been remodelled, and contains small fireplaces with cambered stone arches. The building was used as a glove factory during the first half of the 20th century.
