Description

This is a house and shop dating to the 17th century, which has been altered. It is constructed of rubble stone with a slate roof and a stone coping to the right-hand gable end. There are three brick chimneys. The front elevation features three modern casement windows with wood lintels, a small 19th-century shop window, and a door to the right-hand side of the ground floor. Both the shop window and door have pilasters beneath a simple entablature. Inside, there are exposed timber-framed internal partitions and roof trusses. A moulded and stopped oak doorframe marks the division between the house and shop. A fine moulded beam is visible in the ceiling of the left-hand ground-floor room, featuring a run-off stop at one end, suggesting the timber was reused.
