Description

This is a 19th-century shop and house located on the south side of the Market Place in Wincanton. The building is constructed of local stone rubble with brick detailing, likely originally rendered, and has a plain clay tile roof with bands of fish scale tiles, simple gables, and abutments. A brick chimney stack is also present. The building is two storeys high with an attic, and has four bays.

The shopfront, dating from the late 19th century, features a four-panel door with a fanlight to the left. To the right of the door is a plate glass window flanked by a pair of glazed doors with a fanlight, set within a panelled pilaster and a plain fascia, covering the first three bays. The fourth bay has a plain sash window. The upper floor has a three-pane sash window. An attic dormer with a rendered pitched roof, containing two single-light windows, sits above the third bay. The interior of the building has not been inspected.

The building is included on the list primarily for its group value.
