Description
No. 175 on Watling Street West is a shop and dwelling built in the late 18th century or early 19th century. It features red brick in Flemish bond and has a slate roof with a brick stack at one end. The building has a two-unit plan and stands three stories high with a two-window range. The central entrance has a part-glazed door and is flanked by stone bay windows set on sandstone plinths. A cornice extends over the central door, which is accompanied by a six-panel door to the left that has a hood above it. The first floor has 12-pane sash windows with gauged brick lintels, while the second floor features 9-pane sashes with flat-arched heads. The eaves are nogged brick.
