Description

A pair of estate cottages dating from circa 1840. They are constructed of coursed squared limestone with a slate roof and a brick ridge stack. The cottages are two storeys high with a four-window front. They have a double-depth plan. Number 6 has a four-panel door to the left, accompanied by a gabled timber porch and a chamfered stone lintel. Number 4 features a 20th-century glazed door to the right, with a similar lintel and timber porch. The windows are two-light iron Gothick casements on both the ground and first floors, with chamfered stone jambs and lintels. Further details include a plinth, a storey band, and projecting wood eaves. The interior remains uninspected. These were originally cottages belonging to the Grafton estate.
