Description

These are two cottages, likely dating back to the 19th century, although they may have earlier origins. They are constructed of coursed limestone rubble with some ironstone in the left gable end, featuring ashlar dressings and a thatched roof with a central coping, a brick ridge, and end stacks. The cottages are one storey high with an attic.

Number 43 has a two-window front. It includes a Tudor-arched doorway with a simple wooden door, flanked by two-light stone mullioned windows with leaded lattice casements and hood moulds. Two similar, smaller windows are set within gabled dormers above. Number 44 has a 20th-century timber lattice porch with a door on the right and a three-light 20th-century window on the left, along with two 20th-century gabled dormers containing matching windows. A rear wing has been heightened and features a plain-tile roof. The interiors were not inspected.
