Description

The Close is a house located on West Street in Moulton, dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed from regular coursed lias stone and features a thatched roof. The original design was a two-unit plan, and the house is one storey high with two windows on the ground floor. These windows are casements with glazing bars, set under wooden lintels, and have 20th-century shutters with 20th-century catches. There is one eyebrow dormer on the first floor, which also contains a casement with glazing bars. Brick stacks are located at both ends of the house. At the rear, there is an 18th-century wing that has both thatched and 19th-century slate roofing, along with a 19th-century entrance. The interior has not been inspected.
