Description
Stoneleigh is a house dating from 1660, marked by a datestone inscribed with "GWS". It is constructed of regularly coursed lias stone and features a slate roof with a T-shaped plan. The building stands three storeys tall, with the road-facing elevation showcasing a central cross wing that protrudes slightly. This elevation includes a three-window range featuring three-light stone mullion windows on the ground and first floors, and a similar two-light window on the second floor. The house has large ashlar quoins, ashlar gable parapets, and brick stacks at the ridge and ends. The gable facing the road displays a cloverleaf pattern on the datestone, which is topped with a moulded cornice. The left gable features a large 19th-century wooden bay window. The return wall of the cross wing has a three-light stone mullion window with a transom, and there is a 19th-century porch to the right of the cross wing, which has a 20th-century door. The garden elevation is similar, also featuring stone mullion windows. The interior has not been inspected.
