Description
No. 2 Stocks Hill is a house, likely a former farmhouse, dated 1744. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone with a painted brick front, featuring brick ridge and end stacks. The building has a three-unit plan, stands two storeys high with an attic, and has a four-window range. To the right of the centre, there is a six-panel part-glazed door with a tiled hood supported by brackets. A two-light casement window is located to the left of the door, with a gauged brick lintel above it. There are four-light casements at both the far left and right, each with rendered lintels. A storey band runs across the building, and the first floor has two-light windows with brick lintels. Between the left and middle first-floor windows, there is a datestone inscribed with L/PJ/1744. The house features a stone plinth, moulded brick eaves, and stop-coped gables with kneelers. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
