Description
No. 28 High Street is a house dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features an artificial stone slate roof with brick stacks. The building has a lobby-entry plan and consists of two storeys and an attic, with three bays. The doorway, located in the second bay from the left, has a wood lintel and a part-glazed plank door. To the right of the doorway are two 2-light casement windows, each with wood lintels. To the left, there is a 20th-century three-light casement window with a recessed wood panel above, which connects with the sill of a similar window on the first floor. There are two additional 2-light windows with wood lintels to the right. The house features a rendered cornice and an eyebrow dormer. There is a stack positioned to the left of centre and another at the ridge end. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
