Description
No. 21 High Street is a 17th-century cottage located on the south side of Braunston High Street. The building features pebbledash walls and a slate roof, with brick stacks. It is one storey high with an attic and consists of four bays. The entrance is situated in the right bay and includes a wooden lintel above a part-glazed plank door. There is a six-pane window with a wooden lintel in the second bay from the left, and on either side, there are 20th-century nine-pane sash windows, also with wooden lintels. A three-light casement window is present in the attic. The left gable end is adorned with stone coping and kneelers, while the right gable end has brick coping. The main stack is located on the left, with a smaller 19th-century stack on the right. Inside, the ground floor room features an open fireplace and stop-chamfered cross beams and joists. The roof retains its original main rafters and tie beams.
