Description
The Shambles is a house dating from the early 18th century, constructed from coursed ironstone rubble with a tile roof and brick stacks. It has two storeys and a cellar, featuring four bays. The cellar window in the right bay has a wooden lintel and a stone mullion. The doorway in the second bay from the left includes a wooden lintel and a plank door with an overlight above. All windows are fitted with wooden lintels and 20th-century two-light wooden casements with a transom. A nogged brick cornice is present. The roof has been altered, likely in the 19th century, as the gable ends have kneelers, but the stone coping has been removed. The interior has not been inspected.
