Description
No. 22 Station Road is a house from the mid-18th century, built of squared coursed limestone with a concrete tile roof. Originally designed as a two-unit plan, it stands two storeys high with an attic. The front features a three-window range of 20th-century casements in their original openings, all under gauged stone heads. The central entrance has a panelled door with a fanlight, also beneath a gauged stone head, and is sheltered by a wooden panelled porch. There are brick and stone stacks at either end of the building. The rear elevation includes a stone porch with a pediment, a moulded stone cornice, and a single-storey extension from the 19th century. Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted to have a staircase with stick balusters and an open fireplace that is now blocked. A datestone, which has since been removed, is said to have been dated 1740.
