Description
Nos. 3 and 3A High Street is a public house that has been converted into a restaurant, shop, and flat. It dates from the mid-18th century and is constructed of squared coursed limestone with a slate and plain tile roof. The building originally had a three-unit plan and stands two storeys high. The front features a four-window range of 19th-century casements with wooden lintels on the first floor, and two canted stone bay windows on the ground floor, which alternate with plate glass windows in the original openings. To the right of the centre, there is a glazed door beneath a moulded stone hood with a pediment. The gable ends have ashlar parapets, and there are brick stacks at the ridge. The rear elevation includes a 19th-century lean-to extension. Inside, the building has spine beams. It was formerly known as the White Horse public house.
