Description
64 and 66 High Street is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house, dating from the late 17th century. The building is constructed of regular coursed limestone and features an asbestos slate roof. It originally had a three-unit lobby-entry plan and stands two storeys tall with an attic. The façade has a five-window range, including three cross casements in their original openings, all under wooden lintels. The original casement on the far left of the first floor has leaded lights, while a small central first-floor window features diagonal wooden mullions. There is a 20th-century window to the right. The central door, also from the 20th century, has a moulded wooden surround, and there is another 20th-century door to the left, which is set under a wooden lintel. The building has an ashlar gable parapet and kneelers on the left side, along with renewed stone stacks at the ridge and end. There are 20th-century extensions to the rear. Inside, the property has ceiling beams and an open fireplace with a bressumer.
