Description
Knuston Lodge Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from 1769. It is built of regularly coursed limestone with ironstone dressings and has a 20th-century plain-tile roof. The original layout is a four-unit lobby entry plan. The building has two storeys with an attic and features a five-window range of 20th-century casements in original openings, all under flat arches with keyblocks. The central 20th-century door has a similar head, and the heads of the windows and doors are connected by an ironstone string course. The farmhouse has ashlar gable parapets and kneelers, along with a central brick stack. The datestone is located above the door. At the rear, there is a late 18th-century wing that has 20th-century casements under wood lintels. Inside, the rooms to the left and right of the entrance feature open fireplaces with bressumers. The room to the left of the entrance includes an early 19th-century staircase with a stick balustrade and a wall cupboard with a panelled door.
